Trade Mission to Mexico

On Saturday, I embarked on the trip of a lifetime – representing the City of Dallas and the DFW International Airport on a trade mission trip to Mexico. As Managing Partner of the Linebarger Dallas office, it is my responsibility – and desire – to get deeply involved in the community that I serve. That is why I am proud to be on this trip as a Dallas community leader and an appointed member of the DFW Airport Board of Directors.

The trip is designed to strengthen our political, economic and cultural relationships with Mexico – an extremely important trading partner for the DFW region, with over $1.3 billion in trade for 2016. Statewide, trade between Mexico and Texas was valued at $178 billion in 2015. The numbers speak for themselves, but it is essential that we maintain and strengthen ties between Texas and Mexico with trips such as this.

One of our first meetings was with the newly confirmed U.S. Ambassador, the Hon. Roberta Jacobson, who calls the U.S./Mexican relationship vital to both countries.

Among the many important meetings we’ll have during this trip is one with Mexico City Mayor Miguel Mancera. We’ll also have an opportunity to develop more in-depth awareness of this important relationship – not only from a trade perspective, but a cultural one as well.

Stay tuned…more to come.
