Delinquent Property Taxes

Linebarger represents hundreds of local taxing jurisdictions in the collection of their delinquent property taxes. The additional revenue recovered on behalf of our clients helps fund essential public services, such as police and fire protection, education, and roads, just to name a few.

Our comprehensive collection services include everything from skip tracing and mailing demand letters, to conducting inbound and outbound call campaigns, to providing taxpayer assistance – from investigating disputes to managing payment plans for those who are experiencing financial difficulties.  If and when it becomes necessary to protect our clients’ interests with more aggressive enforcement, we obtain tax warrants, file lawsuits, answer counterclaims, make court appearances, and where appropriate, foreclose on the underlying real estate. We also protect our clients’ interests in bankruptcy court, eminent domain proceedings and other types of legal actions which place our client’s lien in jeopardy.

State and Federal Taxes and Other Delinquent Accounts Receivable

Linebarger offers comprehensive first, second and third placement collection services to states and state agencies throughout the United States.  The firm collects a wide variety of state receivables, including personal and business income taxes; sales and use taxes; environmental fines; lottery receipts; and miscellaneous other types of taxes, fees and fines that may be owed.  These collection programs ensure that everyone is being treated equally when it comes to both complying with the law and paying one’s share of the tax burden.

Our firm serves as outside counsel on collection related matters and, when authorized, provides litigation services, including the pursuit of pre- and post-judgment remedies such as wage garnishments, bank levies and turnover orders.

Personnel undergo background checks and receive regular training on state law and regulations affecting the debt portfolios they manage on our clients’ behalf, including the handling and protection of confidential information.
