Our full-time Property Value Study (“PVS”) appeals team applies a collective 60 years of experience and professional knowledge in property tax appraisals on behalf of our PVS school district clients. Our services help assure our clients that they are receiving their full share of state funding. When the Texas State Comptroller’s initial property values appear to be inaccurate or inequitable, we represent our client school districts in the appeals process. Our staff has direct experience in all facets of ratio study methodology and is well-versed in the Texas State Comptroller’s audit and appeals processes.
Successful appeals require solutions to technical, procedural, and legal issues identified in a Property Value Study. When necessary, we seek relief for our clients through the courts; our attorneys assisting in the appeals process, including the provision of advice and counsel involving litigation strategy.
Over the past five years alone, our PVS team has helped Texas schools receive over $40 million in additional state aid.
