What if I never received a notice?
The owner of a vehicle is responsible for updating the Colorado Department of Revenue and the Colorado DMV of any change of address. Northwest Parkway sends notices to the vehicle owner’s registered address as required by Colorado law.
What if I sold my vehicle?
When a vehicle with Colorado license plates is sold, the vehicle seller is responsible for surrendering the license plate to the DMV to remove it from circulation. If this was not done, the vehicle seller would be responsible for any use of the license plate while still the registered owner. Requirements can vary by state regarding disposition of license plates and reporting of vehicle sales.
What if I wasn’t driving the vehicle at the time of the toll violations?
Under Colorado law, the registered owner is responsible for tolls and fees, even if someone else was using the vehicle.
What if my license plate was stolen?
As with any theft, the victim is responsible for reporting the theft to law enforcement; so, the vehicle owner is responsible for reporting to law enforcement that the license plate was stolen. Although we cannot submit such a report for you, we can assist you with this process through our Dispute Portal or if you submit your dispute to us in writing at the address indicated above. Providing your police report to us will expedite our review of your dispute.
What if I already paid?
We will review any evidence you may have of prior payment. We can assist you with this through our Dispute Portal or if you submit your dispute to us in writing at the address indicated above. Helpful to resolving your dispute would be a receipt or other evidence that the payment of the toll and any fees was made to Northwest Parkway prior to the account being sent for collections.
What if my ex-spouse was assigned the vehicle in our divorce decree?
Under Colorado law, the registered owner or owners are liable for toll transactions regardless of who was driving at the time of the toll violation. However, if you have a court order in a divorce proceeding that allocates responsibility for toll violations to your ex-spouse, or that awards the vehicle to your ex-spouse prior to the violations occurring, please provide a copy of the signed court order for our client’s review and possible re-allocation of the violation account to your ex-spouse. How do I know this is not a scam?
Any email message you receive from LGBS will originate from our email address: nwp-tolls@toll.lgbs.com.
Any text message you receive from LGBS will originate from our 5-digit short code “98023” or from our 10-digit telephone number “210-526-0778,”and never from both. Short Codes can be obtained by companies only after they go through a rigorous approval and verification process with telecom industry authorities. Some scammers try to spoof a short code by displaying a 5-digit or 6-digit number in their texts, but a careful look will reveal that the texts actually originate from 10-digit telephone numbers (often with Country Codes); both the short code and the full telephone number are different from our numbers. In addition, our messages will always include your name, an account-specific reference number, our toll-free call-back number, a link to Disclosures and/or Frequently Asked Questions, and a link to the payment website.
