Charles “Chip” Sutton currently represents taxing entities in the Suburban Houston Area of Texas in the collection of delinquent taxes.

Mr. Sutton joined Linebarger in 1993, and he became a Partner in 2000 and a Capital Partner in 2007. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, State Bar of New Mexico, the Fort Bend County Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, and the Texas Association of Assessing Officers. Mr. Sutton is also on the Board of the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation and Vice-President of the Sugar Land Cultural Arts Foundation. Mr. Sutton is a past president of the Red River and Coastal Bend Chapters of the Texas Association of Assessing Officers.

Mr. Sutton graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in 1991. Mr. Sutton was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas in 1991 and in the State of New Mexico in 1992.

Following law school, Mr. Sutton worked in New Mexico for the law firm of Hinkle, Cox, Eaton, Coffield & Hensley. He practiced primarily in the areas of commercial law, oil and gas, and labor law.
