Decision Day 2020 goes Virtual

On May 12, the Cleveland ISD Education Foundation held the Cleveland High School Virtual Decision Day 2020 via Zoom. Linebarger Partner Derick Mendoza, who serves as Vice President of the Board, attended the event in person at the Calvary Baptist Church.

Cleveland High School seniors enrolled in higher education institutions or joining the military attended the event virtually to announce their college of choice and hope for a chance to win a raffle prize. School staff, parents, and volunteers also attended virtually to show support for the graduating class.

“High school seniors would normally have celebrations and graduation to look forward to right now,” Mendoza said. “It is wonderful to be able to participate in something fun that will help these seniors as they leave high school in these uncertain times.”

With the help of local businesses donations, including Linebarger, the Cleveland ISD Education Foundation raffled off scholarships of $1,000, $500, and $250, along with other prizes. Students won more than $7,000 in scholarships and gift cards.

Congratulations to all of the seniors graduating this year!
