Partner Highlight – Mark Harris
From Dallas to DC to Atlanta to Philadelphia, Partner Mark Harris always makes himself a part of the community and infuses his amiable nature into every project he tackles. Mr. Harris currently serves as Managing Partner in Linebarger’s Philadelphia Office, where he oversees delinquent tax and fines and fees contracts for the clients served by this office. He is also a member of the National Marketing Committee, pursuing new business opportunities for Linebarger. Mark was promoted to Capital Partner by the Management Committee in December 2020.
Managing Partner Mark Harris
Mr. Harris graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1994. He received his law degree from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. Before joining Linebarger in 2008, he worked as an attorney for several law firms and the U.S. Postal Service Law Department, Southwest Law Office in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Harris counseled clients on a broad range of legal issues ranging from labor and employment discrimination, family and juvenile law, breach of contract, intellectual property to corporate and consumer collections matters.
Mr. Harris is admitted to practice law in Maryland, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. He is an active member of the State Bar Association of Maryland, serving in the State and Local Government, Delivery of Legal Services, and Young Lawyers sections. He was a long-time volunteer for the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program in Dallas, Texas and is a member of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity and The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Mr. Harris is a 2015 graduate Fellow of the Leadership DISD program, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing leaders and agents of change to impact the Dallas Independent School District’s educational programs. Mr. Harris has been a recurring speaker and panelist on many discussions on taxation and collections and continues to build upon his practice in the collections industry.
A Texas native, Mr. Harris has also called Atlanta and Washington DC home. With his move to Philadelphia, Mark is now actively involved in supporting his new community.
Managing Partner Mark Harris stands with Shalimar Thomas, the Executive Director of the North Broad Renaissance Project, at the Annual State of North Board where he spoke on Linebarger’s involvement with The North Board Renaissance Project. North Broad focuses on the revitalization of North Broad Street in Philadelphia, one of the city’s main corridors.
