Supporting Our Children – April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month
In 2019, an estimated 458,900 children ages two to five were abused within the United States. To bring awareness to the social and emotional well-being of children and families, April is named as National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Linebarger is committed to supporting the physical and emotional health of children and families because it’s the right thing to do, and we know healthy and well-educated children lead to thriving communities that benefit us all.
In 2020, Linebarger made multiple contributions to support children. Linebarger’s Kaufman Office donated $1,000 to the Fern Norville Kaufman County Children’s Shelter. The shelter is dedicated to helping children who are displaced from their families or who need support due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The donation helped the shelter defray costs associated with COVID-19 prevention and protection.
“The Norville Children’s Shelter fills a crucial role in helping children in Kaufman County,” Partner Jeff Brown said. “We are proud to invest in the communities where we live and work, and I can’t think of a better cause than these kids.”

Linebarger’s Austin office, in coordination with Austin Voices Family resource Center and Austin Partners in Education, collected games, puzzles, art supplies, school supplies, jump ropes, books, toys, and more. These donations were distributed along with food boxes by the Central Texas Foodbank to support families through the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Linebarger was named Corporate Partner of the Year by the Texas Alliance of Black Educators (TABSE).
“Linebarger is committed to supporting education across Texas,” said Capital Partner Glenn Lewis, who accepted the honor on behalf of Linebarger at TABSE’s Western Themed Gala. “We look forward to continuing our work with TABSE to provide a quality education for all students.”

Houston office staff attended the Women Professionals in Government (WPG) meeting. In celebration of Christmas, WPG partnered with BE, a Resource for CPS Kids (BEAR), to collect donated gifts from members, which will help bring joy to more than 10,000 children in need. All gifts donated went to children living under the care of Child Protective Services. Houston staff attending the event donated an unwrapped, safe toy.
