World Humanitarian Day Highlights Dedicated Volunteers

August 19, 2024

On World Humanitarian Day, we recognize the exceptional contributions of three members of our Austin office’s Community Engagement Committee (CEC) who were chosen for their consistent participation in the firm’s volunteer efforts.

Stephanie Mendoza cites her passion for giving back and reason for participating in regular volunteer opportunities. “I want to be a part of a group of like-minded individuals who dedicate time to serving the community. My favorite volunteer opportunity this year was helping at the Central Texas Food Bank. It was amazing to see how just a few hours could make a significant impact on feeding those in need.”

Lisa Varner has displayed a lifelong dedication to volunteerism and embodies our firm’s mission to serve the communities where we live and work. “I have been giving back all my life. I have been blessed immensely, so I want to pay it forward,” she says.

Michael Watts also shares a lifelong commitment to volunteerism and believes in the power of kindness. “Committing to helping others, whether it’s seen or unseen, is what living is really about,” he says.

At our firm, we are committed to fostering a culture of service that results in tangible outcomes in our communities. We know that community engagement is more than just a commitment; it’s a core value that guides us every day in our work with clients.

Join us in recognizing our remarkable volunteers and share this post with a humanitarian whose dedication exemplifies true service.

Linebarger’s Austin Office Supports Hospitalized Children

May 20, 2024

Staff of Linebarger’s Austin office recently undertook a heartwarming initiative that embodies the firm’s spirit of giving and engaging in communities where we live and work. The firm coordinated with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas to donate 50 activity kits to children hospitalized at Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin.

Our dedicated team prepared activity bags thoughtfully filled with fun and engaging items, including small stuffed animals, stickers, puzzles, toys, and unique inspirational messages for the kids. Each item was carefully chosen to provide a happy distraction for children facing the challenges of hospitalization. Given the stress that hospitalization can bring to children and their families, we hope these gifts can brighten the children’s days and offer them a sense of normalcy through their hospital stay.

The Ronald McDonald House is a critical connector of community support for children and families in need, and we appreciate the opportunities it provides for our firm to continue serving our local community.

In addition to this event, Linebarger hosted several volunteer events with the foundation last year, including preparing breakfast and lunch for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House through their child’s hospitalization. The Austin office has volunteered with Ronald McDonald House previously and has several more events planned later this year, and we look forward to our continued partnership with the foundation and the support they help us bring to our neighbors in Austin.
