Obtuvo la licencia profesional del Tribunal Supremo de Texas en 2003 y, adem\u00e1s, est\u00e1 autorizado por el Tribunal de Distrito de los Estados Unidos para el Distrito Norte de Texas. Fue autorizado para ejercer ante el Tribunal Supremo de los Estados Unidos en 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e9rez ejerce en el \u00e1rea de cobro de impuestos en mora y ha trabajado en los tribunales de distrito estatal e los condados de Tarrant, Denton, Johnson, Hardeman, Parker, Grayson, Cooke y Polk. P\u00e9rez es miembro del Colegio de Abogados del Condado de Tarrant y del Colegio de Abogados Mexicano-Americano del Condado de Tarrant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>P\u00e9rez ha seguido participando activamente en organizaciones comunitarias, ben\u00e9ficas y pol\u00edticas. P\u00e9rez es miembro del Consejo de Administraci\u00f3n de My Health My Resources (MHMR) del condado de Tarrant y anteriormente fue Presidente del Consejo de Common Cause Texas, una organizaci\u00f3n de vigilancia centrada en un gobierno abierto y responsable. P\u00e9rez fue elegido dos veces, en 1996 y 2004, delegado a la Convenci\u00f3n Nacional Dem\u00f3crata.
