Wishes Granted in Lufkin
Lufkin office File Manager Delaina Taylor and Area Manager Shelba Harrison are making wishes come true with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Recently Delaina and Shelba arranged a shopping spree for Brigette from Nacogdoches, TX. Brigette is in remission from cancer.
Delaina manages the wish-granting volunteer team in the Linebarger Lufkin office. She coordinates with Make-A-Wish families to fulfill children’s wishes.
“It’s such a humbling experience helping these children and their families,” Delaina said. “Many of them are fighting for their lives, and being able to help make their wished come true is an honor.”
Make-A-Wish works to grant children with critical illness their wish. Tens of thousands of volunteers, donors, and supporters work to grant the wish of children diagnosed with a critical illness. Wish children are typically referred by hospitals and are always vetted through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Fulfilling the wishes of children battling these critical illnesses brings joy, hope, and strength to wish families. It is an integral part of the child’s health journey.
