Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McAfee served as an assistant county attorney with the Harris County Attorney’s Office, representing countywide taxing authorities in the enforcement and collection of delinquent ad valorem property taxes. She previously served in the Child Protection Division, representing the Department of Family and Protective Services in complex cases involving the safety and welfare of children, including proceedings to terminate parental rights.
Earlier in her career, Ms. McAfee served as an assistant district attorney in Travis County, prosecuting felony criminal offenses through trial, with a specialization in family violence cases.
Her practice reflects a steadfast commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals while navigating sensitive and high-stakes legal matters with diligence and care.
Ms. McAfee earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as an associate editor of The Review of Litigation. Beyond her legal practice, she has maintained a longstanding commitment to serving her community through philanthropic and educational initiatives throughout the Houston area, including the Houston Bar Association’s Lawyers for Literacy Committee and Gracewood Home for Mothers. She has devoted many years to volunteer leadership in the Spring Branch schools her daughters attend as well as her church.
